TikTok content creator Bewearthisd recently posted a clip of their Pokemon Let’s Go adventures in which they’re wandering around one of the few mountains in the game in search of Shiny Pokemon. Pokemon Let’s Go was released back in 2018, but with the upcoming release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, many players like Bewearthisd are going back to older titles to remain patient. Because of the different battling and catching mechanics of Pokemon Let’s Go compared to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the mainline titles, or remasters like Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Let’s Go maintains a dedicated community of players as other fans adopt the latest Generation.

Bewearthisd’s TikTok clip begins with the player riding on the shoulders of a Shiny Machamp between standard versions of Geodude, Graveler, and Golbat as the player dodges a Rhyhorn walking their way. A Charmander’s call is heard as it spawns nearby in the mountain and the player hurries over to it upon noticing that it’s a Shiny Pokemon. The player opens their menu screen before approaching the Shiny Charmander and just as the catching sequence should have played out, the player discovered that they made a disastrous error.

Instead of walking into the Shiny Charmander which was very close to a ladder, the Bewearthisd instead found themselves on a higher level of the mountain which will have reset the floor they came from. Because of this mistake, the Shiny Charmander isn’t guaranteed to reappear once the player returns to the lower floor of the mountain which makes the Pokemon gone to the error. According to Bewearthisd, they had spent so much time Shiny Pokemon hunting in the area, and the TikTok content creator expressed their frustration through crying emojis as a result of the devastating moment.

Although several Pokemon Let’s Go fans took to Bewearthisd’s TikTok video to express their entertainment by the movement mistake, others felt the content creator’s pain, having missed out on their own shinies. Though many Pokemon Let’s Go players lamented Bewearthisd’s loss of the Shiny Charmander, the Pokemon fan quickly secured another one and updated the community.

Pokemon Let’s Go is available now for Nintendo Switch.
