There are multiple methods to getting the starter Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, with the easiest ways outlined below.
Bulbasaur
Bulbasaur is actually the first gen 1 starter Pokemon that players can get in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee if they’re patient enough. Wild Bulbasaur spawn in Viridian Forest, though the odds of encountering one is extremely rare, and so we don’t recommend searching for Bulbasaur this way.
The easiest way to get Bulbasaur in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee is by visiting the house to the left of the Pokemon Center in Cerulean City. As long as players have caught 30 Pokemon, the person in the house will give them Bulbasaur for free.
Charmander
Like Bulbasaur, Charmander can be found in the wild, but also like Bulbasaur, the odds of encountering a wild Charmander are fairly low. The better method to getting Charmander in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee is by getting a free one from the person north of Cerulean City, just past the Nugget Bridge. They’ll give players Charmander for free, assuming that they’ve proven their worth as a trainer by catching at least 50 Pokemon. Anyone who insists on looking for Charmander in the wild should check the Rock Tunnel, Route 3, and Route 4.
Squirtle
Wild Squirtle can spawn on Route 24, Route 25, and the Seafoam Islands. However, players can get their hands on a free Squirtle by talking to Officer Jenny in Vermilion City, who will hand it over if they have caught at least 60 Pokemon. As is the case with Bulbasaur and Charmander, finding a Squirtle out in the wild rarely happens, so the free Squirtle from Officer Jenny is the best bet to add the Gen 1 water-type starter to one’s Pokemon collection.
