In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, trainers can find Pokemon’s very own mascot, Pikachu, fairly early on. Players will have to complete a few of the starting Missions before they can cross the bridge to the other side of the Obsidian Fieldlands where Pikachu lives. However, it’s a good Electric-type to have at the start of the journey.

Pikachu’s Location
Pikachu can be caught in the Obsidian Fieldlands, Crimson Mirelands, and the Cobalt Coastlands. It will appear regardless of weather conditions, and, unlike its pre-evolved form, Pichu, isn’t a rare spawn.
Obsidian Fieldlands: Nature’s Pantry Crimson Mirelands: Golden Lowlands Cobalt Coastlands: Windbreak Stand
The earliest point players can catch Pikachu is at Nature’s Pantry in the Obsidian Fieldlands. The Pikachu living in the Crimson Mirelands and Cobalt Coastlands will be at a higher level, so players should decide how early they want Pikachu in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Pikachu isn’t as timid as Pichu, so if it spots the player character, it might attack. The easiest way to catch Pikachu is to sneak up on it and throw a Heavy Ball when its back is turned. Because Pikachu has gender differences, it might not be a bad idea to catch a male and female Pikachu to complete some of its research tasks for the Pokedex.
More Information About Pikachu
Once Pikachu is added to the team, players can return to Jubilife Village and speak to Zisu. Have Pikachu learn Iron Tail to give it coverage against Rock, Ice, and Fairy-type Pokemon.
Evolving Pikachu into Raichu
To evolve Pikachu into Raichu, players will need to use a Thunder Stone on it. Players won’t be able to buy evolution stones at the local store, but they can buy them at the Trading Post. Unlike the local store, the Trading Post takes Merit Points (MP) as currency. A Thunder Stone costs 1,000 MP. Players can get more MP by finding lost Satchels and returning them to their owners. This can be done by going into the Communications menu and selecting Lost and Found.
Alternatively, players can take a chance by breaking the stones/crystals lying around the Hisui region. There’s a low chance of farming an evolution stone from these crystals.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
