Where to Find Linking Cord
Pokemon Legends: Arceus offers several ways to obtain all its items, which is quite helpful for those players who may struggle with one specific method, and it also increases replayability. As for the Linking Cord, this item is used to evolve trade-exclusive Pokemon, such as evolving Haunter into Gengar or Kadabra into Alakazam, all completely solo.

Players who want to get their hands on a Linking Cord in Pokemon Legends: Arceus currently have four options to get the item, with one being a one-time mission and the others being repeatable methods. The most obvious is to get enough Merit Points by retrieving satchels in the overworld, and then head to Simona’s shop in Jubilife Village, where she sells a Linking Cord for 1000 MP.
This is hardly the quickest method, and that’s why it matters that there are more. Pokemon Legends: Arceus players can sometimes get a Linking Cord from shaking ores in the overworld, which normally feature a Geodude or Graveler encounter.
Another method is to look for space-time distortion zones, which appear from time to time in every main area. In fact, Linking Cords can be found as a random item on the floor alongside the usual Blue, Red, and Green Shards and other evolution items, like Upgrades. All non-Shard items will have a round shape, and they’re easier to spot, but space-time distortion zones can be quite hectic, and players should try to look on the ground and on small hills for the Linking Cord.
Lastly, players are guaranteed to obtain a Linking Cord by completing Request 64: Getting to Know Ghosts, which is unlocked after quelling the third noble Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus’ storyline. This happens at the end of the Cobalt Coastlands story, so players will have their Linking Cord relatively early into the game even if they are unlucky with the other methods.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
