A couple of new trailers have emerged for Pokemon Legends: Arceus recently. Both are live-action in their presentation and border on the strange in terms of their presentation. The first, entitled “The Drama,” features a woman speaking to a plush Hisuian Growlithe, showing the Pokemon like it had never been seen before. Now, a new, Valentine’s themed trailer shows two people on a date that is sent in a strange direction by the appearance of a Budew.

The new trailer, which is entitled “ACHOO-SE you!” begins with a man bringing flowers to his date. Unbeknownst to the couple in the trailer, a Budew is hiding within the bouquet, and proceeds to use the move sweet scent to cause havoc in the date. First, the couple experience allergy symptoms, before they’re quickly spilling water over themselves and creating quite the mess on set. As one of the Pokemon available and introduced in the Sinnoh region, Budew makes an appearance both in the trailer and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

The trailer ends with some gameplay footage from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, promising it to be a Pokemon experience like no other. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is certainly a unique experience for fans of the Pokemon franchise. It is the first mainline game in the series without two games for fans to choose from. Alongside the open-world mechanics, Pokemon Legends: Arceus also added unique ways to traverse the map, such as using Basculegion to surf over water. The game also features regional Pokemon from the older version of the Sinnoh region, such as the aforementioned Hisuian Growlithe. There’s also Hisuian versions of each starter Pokemon seen in the game.

Unfortunately, Budew did not receive a regional form, though as it is from the Sinnoh region, it makes sense for Budew to appear in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Budew is a Grass/Poison type Pokemon, and it evolves into Roselia which evolves into Roserade in turn. All three of these Pokemon can be found both in the Hisuia region of Legends: Arceus, and the Sinnoh remake games Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
