Pokemon Legends: Arceus revisits the Sinnoh region, which was based on the Japanese island of Hokkaido and first introduced in main series titles Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. In a premodern version of Sinnoh called Hisui, players join up with the Survey Corps of Jubilife Village and work to observe and catalog all 242 Pokemon available in the region. In addition to returning Pokemon from several titles in the series, Pokemon Legends: Arceus also features regional variants and evolutions of previous Pokemon, such as Wyrdeer, a Psychic-type evolution of Generation 2’s Stantler.

Recently, a free update to the Pokemon Home service gave players the ability to transfer Pokemon to and from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. A Reddit user going by u/Billybobjoebob took advantage of this to transfer two additional Arceus into the game. As players are only able to catch a single Arceus in this title, the two Arceus must have previously been caught in either another Legends: Arceus save file or a different Pokemon game in which Arceus appears, such as Pokemon Diamond, Pokemon Pearl, their remakes, or even Pokemon GO. The user showed off all three Arceus standing in the pen in Jubilife Village, jokingly referring to them as “the Council.”

In addition to bringing extra Arceus and other Pokemon into the series’ newest title, players who transfer at least one Pokemon from Legends: Arceus into Pokemon Home can receive a free Mystery Gift containing Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott. These three Pokemon, which originated from three different Generations, were chosen as the starter trio for Pokemon Legends: Arceus due to their relationship to various elements of Hokkaido culture: archery, volcanoes, and sea otters respectively. The free Pokemon received in Home can be sent to any main series title except for Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.

It has not yet been announced whether Pokemon Home will release further updates to provide compatibility with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the upcoming main series titles which are slated to debut in late 2022. However, the update that added Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus to Pokemon Home reaffirmed the service’s commitment to partnering with and supporting all modern Pokemon games, leaving a distinct possibility that Scarlet and Violet will be included.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
