With a large open-world for players to explore though, and graphics that let players exist in an area filled with roaming Pokemon allowed out of their Poke Balls, meaning that Pokemon Legends: Arceus allows for some photo opportunities unlike any of the other mainline Pokemon games. While it might not be a great idea for players to take a selfie with some wild or Alpha Pokemon, as this can end up with the player being attacked and knocked out in-game, one player has managed to create an impressive series of photos using the game.

Reddit user u/Key-Pomegranate-9505 has even gone so far as to create a multitude of images retelling the story of the Disney animated classic, The Lion King in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Using a shiny Luxray as both Mufasa and Simba, u/Key-Pomegranate-9505 tells the story of the entire film, including Mufasa’s death, and Simba meeting Timon and Pumba. Both the warthog and meerkat are represented by Pokemon too, with Timon played by a Riolu and Pumba being portrayed as a Hippopotas.
Pokemon fans were quick to praise u/Key-Pomegranate-9505 in the comments of their posts, not only for recreating The Lion King so well, but also for having the patience to sit and wait while their Pokemon got into the perfect pose. There’s the appearance of the shiny Pokemon in the images as well, which often take hours to catch in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Head here to see all of the Reddit images.
This is not the first time a Pokemon Legends: Arceus player has recreated a moment from classic media, though it is the first time a player has made such an impressive recreation of The Lion King. Previously, a Pokemon Legends: Arceus player managed to recreate the classic Snorlax moment from the original games with an Alpha Snorlax.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
