While Pokemon Legends: Arceus players have been exploring the Hisui region as they catch, fight, and level up Pokemon, The Pokemon Company recently announced that Gen 9 titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, have been in development and are expected to release on the Switch at the end of the year. However, that doesn’t mean that The Pokemon Company is no longer thinking of the title it released in the beginning of the year.

A free update to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, “Daybreak,” came out on February 27th, the day that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were revealed. With it, The Pokemon Company announced that players could get 30 Ultra Balls, 30 Gigaton Balls, and 30 Jet Balls by going to the Mystery Gift menu and using the code, “ARCEUSADVENTURE.” Beyond that, there is another code that was not shown during the presentation, which allows players to get five Grit Pebbles, five Rare Candies, and five Star Pieces. In order to receive these items, players will once again have to go to the Mystery Gift menu and type in the code, “THX4Y0URHELP.”

Each of these items can help players out a bit throughout Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Grit Pebbles raise the effort level of a Pokemon’s stat as long as it is between levels 6 and 8, Rare Candies raise a Pokemon’s level by one, and Star Pieces that can give players a lot of money if they sell it.

It is great that players have another option in receiving items as they can get them through free gifts rather than purchasing or finding them. These free items, as well as the Daybreak update, also show how much The Pokemon Company still wants its fans to have fun experiences in Pokemon Legends: Arceus leading up to the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Players will hopefully be able to receive even more codes to obtain free items throughout the year, as well as when Pokemon Scarlet and Violet come out. Until then, they can enjoy everything that the Daybreak update has to offer, complete Pokemon Legends: Arceus’ campaign if they have yet to do so, and continue to explore the Hisui region as they capture and battle Pokemon.
