By using this guide, players will learn how to save their game in Pokemon Legends: Arceus for the Nintendo Switch. Not saving a player’s game can result in folks losing tons of their precious game data, which means they could potentially end up having to replay certain story missions or losing a rare Pokemon catch. Pokemon Legends: Arceus players should make sure that that doesn’t happen.

How to Save in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
There are two ways to save the game in Pokemon Legends: Arceus:
Save manually Let the game auto-save for you
To save manually in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players need to press the Up button on the d-pad, and then press the ZL or ZR buttons to scroll to the Save screen. Once players get there, they can Save their game manually. After doing this, Switch owners can now safely quit out of the game, and play something else on their Switch. Once players get back to Legends: Arceus, they can load their save data and go right back into the Pokemon-catching action.
Otherwise, players can just let the game save automatically for them. It will often happen during key moments in the story Missions of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Players will know that the game is saving when a message appears in the top-right corner of the screen that says “Now Saving…” Since there are over 20 Missions in the entire game, players can expect the game to auto-save quite frequently.
For the players out there that would rather save the game themselves, however, the auto-save functionality can be disabled in the Settings for Pokemon Legends: Arceus (players can get there via the Help screen). This will make it so that the game doesn’t save for the player at all –so just be careful before disabling it and remember to save manually often.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
