Aguav Berries were introduced back in Generation 3. They were a holdable item that would restore a quarter of a Pokemon’s health, but only if the Pokemon’s HP dropped below half. If a Pokemon had a Rash, Lax, Naughty, or Naive Nature, then the Pokemon would also get confused upon consuming it. Confusion doesn’t seem to exist in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but a Pokemon with the correct Nature will pause after it’s eaten one. However, with the Daybreak Update, it may be wise to keep any Aguav Berry in storage.

What are Aguav Berries for?

After completing the main story, players can then start a series of Requests involving massive mass outbreaks of Pokemon. Speak to Warden Mai in the Obsidian Fieldlands to start the Request: A New Anomaly. Bear in mind that Legends: Arceus needs to be updated to V.1.1.0 for this to occur.

Once players are ordered to investigate massive mass outbreaks in the Crimson Mirelands, they’ll run into Melli, who will hand over 20 Aguav Berries. Unfortunately, Mai’s Munchlax will consume five of them, but it turns out Munchlax has an odd ability that lets it identify all the Pokemon in massive mass outbreaks. This means players can simply travel to an outbreak of their choosing if it has a Pokemon they want.

Aguav Berries can be used as bait, but it’s recommended to hoard them in case of massive mass outbreaks. To identify all the Pokemon in massive mass outbreaks, players need at least five Aguav Berries for Munchlax.

How to Farm Aguav Berries

Working through the massive mass outbreaks requests will reward players with more Aguav Berries to feed to Munchlax. Once this request chain is completed, players will need to start farming Aguav Berries on their own. There are currently only two methods of getting Aguav Berries:

Complete the Request “Help Wanted Watering the Fields,” which is available during Cobalt Coastlands and after “Help Wanted: Plowing the Fields” is completed. This will unlock the Berry Fields option in Jubilife Village. If this is V. 1. 1. 0, then players will be able to choose between the Regular Berry Field and Special Berry Field. The Special Berry Field costs an impressive 20,000 poke dollars. Unfortunately, the berries grown in this field are randomized. Meaning players may get a bushel of Iapapa Berries instead of Aguav. The second option is to investigate massive mass outbreaks and go after hoards that have the “Orange Berry Icon” over their head. This indicates “Berry Outbreaks,” which means catching (or defeating) those Pokemon will cause them to drop some Aguav Berries.

Unfortunately, Aguav Berries can’t be purchased from the Ginkgo Guild at this time. This leaves the Fields and massive mass outbreaks as the only ways of getting more Aguav Berries.
