Found in the Moonview Area of the Coronet Highlands, Electrode serves as the Lord of the Hollow. Its warden is Melli of the Diamond Clan, who Pokemon Legends: Arceus players will need to defeat several times before they can even think about trying to cure Electrode of its Frenzy. This task ends up being a challenging one, for sure, but one that can be overcome with the right strategy.
How To Beat Electrode in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Just before the battle with the Lord of the Hollow begins, Melli will warn players not to stop moving, which actually proves to be excellent advice. Two of Electrode’s three main attacks follow players around the battle arena, with the third, a self-destruct style move, having a massive area of effect. Luckily, however, if players do keep moving, they shouldn’t have too much trouble dodging all of Electrode’s attacks.
Electrode will kick things off by firing out yellow orbs of electricity that follow players around the arena. Players shouldn’t have too much trouble outrunning these, to begin with, although later on in the fight they’ll be replaced with blue ones that are much much faster. Players will still be able to throw balms with these orbs tracking them, but the window for doing so can be very tight, especially with the blue ones
Electrode’s second attack sees it trigger a mini-explosion, which, in turn, causes a bunch of Hisuian Voltorb to start falling from the sky. These Voltorb will explode a few seconds after appearing, so players should make sure that they’re not inside the yellow circles that surround the Pokemon just before they do. As such, diving with the Y button can be very useful here.
Every now and again, Electrode will leap into the sky and then begin charging a massive self-destruct-style attack once it lands. As with the many exploding Voltorb before this, players will be able to see the predicted blast radius thanks to the expanding circle on the ground and so should do everything they can to avoid being inside the circle when Electrode finally explodes.
This massive explosion will cause Electrode to become temporarily dazed, at which point players can either get in some free Mountain Balm shots or choose to take it on in battle. As an Electric / Grass-type Pokemon, Electrode is weak to Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice-Type attacks, so those who didn’t choose Cyndaquil as their starter Pokemon may want to consider catching and evolving a Hisuian Growlithe in the Cobalt Coastlands ahead of the fight.
Though it can get a little tricky towards the end due to the blue electricity orbs, it’s a fairly manageable battle on the whole. Like other Noble Pokemon before it, Electrode will return to normal once its yellow Frenzy meter has been depleted and will also hand over an elemental plate. Players should then return to Jubilife Village, after which, they’ll be able to travel to the home of the next Noble Pokemon in need, the Alabaster Icelands.
