Pokemon Legends: Arceus offers more than just the open-world experience in differing from previous mainline titles though. With new Hisuian forms of Pokemon and a historical version of the Sinnoh region to explore, Pokemon Legends: Arceus has plenty of reasons for fans to keep playing after initially picking up the game. An open-world and exploration means that sometimes Pokemon players are going to stumble upon things that perhaps they weren’t meant to see.

One player, who posted their short clip to Reddit, was innocently looking at their Togetic Pokemon when in the background the sun just disappears. This doesn’t at first appear to be a glitch or the day/night cycle changing, as the game remains in daytime and the sun’s disappearance even has a small shrinking animation. Other Pokemon Legends: Arceus players were quick to point out theories of what could be happening.

Many players relate the sun to the Gen 7 legendary Pokemon Solgaleo, which is supposedly the beast that devours the sun in Pokemon lore. Some even joked that the sun’s disappearance could be a set-up for a Pokemon Legends sequel featuring the Gen 7 legendaries. It seems that the sun’s disappearance has a much simpler answer though, as the person who posted the clip pointed out. According to the player, the sun disappears whenever it is about to rain in game, and they were lucky enough to catch the animation as it happened.

Apart from the sun vanishing from the sky, Pokemon Legends: Arceus players have captured other weird and funny moments. From a Gyarados obliterating a player due to a glitch, a gang of Buizels drowning a player, or someone building a bridge of Bibarels, there seems plenty of activities distracting the player from keeping to the main quest. Just as any open-world RPG would have it.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
