A powerful raid boss like Zekrom provides Pokemon GO players with a real challenge and the opportunity to add a mega-relevant Legendary to their own collection. Players are going to need to stick to a careful strategy to take advantage of every weakness and avoid a super long list of resistances. Its Dragon/Electric-type pairing makes it a very popular choice in the PoGO metagame time and time again, so many players are going to want to catch as many as possible while it’s available.

Zekrom is a Dragon- and Electric-type, which means that its primary weaknesses are going to be Dragon-, Ground-, and Fairy- and Ice-types. A few of the best Zekrom counters have been popular choices for previous Raid Bosses, so hopefully players already have a fairly powerful team assembled. If not, be sure to take advantage of Elite TMs and lots of Candy and Stardust to power up a strong roster before entering this Legendary Raid Battle.
Zekrom Weaknesses
As a Dragon- and Electric-type Pokemon, Zekrom is weak to Dragon-, Fairy-, Ice-, and Ground-types moves.
Zekrom Resistances (Avoid These!)
Zekrom is resistant to Fire-, Grass-, Electric-, Grass-, Flying-, Steel-, and Water-type moves.
Best Zekrom Counters
Latios (Mega) - Dragon Breath/Dragon Claw Latias (Mega) - Dragon Breath/Outrage Palkia - Dragon Tail/Draco Meteor Zekrom - Dragon Breath/Outrage Reshiram - Dragon Breath/Draco Meteor Dialga - Dragon Breath/Draco Meteor Rayquaza - Dragon Tail/Outrage Garchomp - Dragon Tail/Outrage Haxorus - Dragon Tail/Dragon Claw Dragonite - Dragon Tail/Dragon Claw Salamence - Dragon Tail/Outrage Mamoswine - Mud-Slap/Avalanche Groudon - Dragon Tail/Earthquake Exadrill - Mud-Slap/Drill Run
As always, players should remember that they don’t need the exact perfect list of counters in order to successfully take down the Legendary. Stick to the right counter-types (Dragon-, Fairy, Ground-, and Ice-type moves), enter the Battle Raid with a big enough group, and that should be enough in most cases. Don’t hesitate to burn through some Stardust, Rare Candy, and TMs in order to properly prepare for the big fight.
