The Reshiram raids began just a few days ago on May 26 and will carry on through June 16. At that point, Zekrom will take over and Pokemon GO players will need to shift to a Ground-, Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type roster build for tier 5 Battle Raids. In addition to taking over the standard rotation on June 16, Zekrom will also be featured in a series of weekly Raid Hours.

The Deep Black Pokemon will appear in Raid Hour events on June 17, June 24, and July. Players who want to battle Zekrom in regular tier 5 raids will have at least a few weeks to challenge the Pokemon, but for now Niantic has not announced an end date for the Zekrom rotation or when Kyurem will take over the spotlight position.

Zekrom makes its electrifying Pokémon GO debut

Starting Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), Zekrom, the Deep Black Pokémon, will be waiting for you to challenge it in five-star raids. In addition, there will be Raid Hour events featuring Zekrom every Wednesday while it’s in five-star raids.

Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time

Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time

Be sure to have your Remote Raid Passes stocked and Ground-, Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type Pokémon ready for battle.

There will likely be more details about Kyurem’s takeover sometime in the later half of June. At this point, players should have plenty on their plate between Reshiram raids and the upcoming final phase of the Throwback Celebration.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
