Weedle was announced as the winner shortly after the voting concluded, but it took a week or so for official details about the June Community Day event to arrive. Now that players know what exciting bonuses and special features they are in store for, the countdown to the June 20 Pokemon GO event can really begin.

Although the most exciting part of June’s Community Day for many players will likely be the chance to add a new shiny to their collection, that isn’t all that has fans hyped. As predicted, this event is also going to offer the opportunity to equip Beedrill with the Ground-type attack Drill Run.
Drill Run is a powerful move and an interesting counter and, paired with a Poison-type move, can really create some interesting move sets. Expect to see a lot of Beedrills making appearances in upcoming PvP GO Battle League matches after this month’s Community Day concludes. It will be interesting to follow the metagame analysis in the coming month and see if Beedrills new moveset possibilities help it climb through the ranks at all.
