According to the Pokemon GO development team, the latest update fixes a major bug which didn’t allow players to power up their Pokemon to the maximum CP levels. This was the cause of a great deal of frustration in the community as players were not able to strengthen their creatures up to the CP that their levels indicated should be possible, which was made more annoying by the fact that the later levels of the game are a real grind to achieve.
A second fix that the new patch brings to the game removes the bug that causes player contributions to reset back to nothing once rejoining a Raid Battle. Doing more damage while raiding is a great way to gain extra Premier Balls for catching the powerful creature once the battle is won, and this new bug fix will allow players to maintain that contribution even if they accidentally disconnect or the game crashes mid-fight.
Unfortunately for Niantic, early reports from users seem to indicate that the title’s CP bug is still somewhat present in the game, with players being able to power up their Pokemon a little more than before the update was live but still not to the maximum amount. If true, this is going to prove to be an issue for many trainers who are looking to battle the latest wave of legendary raids that became available at the beginning of the month.
For a game with such a huge following and tremendous financial success, Pokemon GO still suffers from a large amount of bugs and performance issues which Niantic is still yet to find a fix for. Lately players have been finding issues with the exclusive EX Raid system which is proving to be even more selective with its invites than intended, but that’s far from the only issue that the game currently faces.
Niantic is clearly attempting to fix some of the issues discovered by the incredibly popular title’s frustrated fan base but it’s often a case of too little too late, as the updates remove bugs weeks after complaints have begun to roll in and without any acknowledgement by the developer beforehand.
Pokemon GO is out now for Android and iOS devices.
