The Poke Ball Prep Rally hits Pokemon GO at the start of the weekend and is going to offer players a full week to enjoy some exciting spawns, bonuses, and features before the main GO Tour Johto activities arrive the following weekend. The event has a lot going on, so players should start preparing now by reviewing some of the upcoming activities and when they kick off.

There are going to be select increased spawns, timed research, and even a new avatar item featuring the popular Ball Guy costume. There are no details about the exact tasks involved in the event research yet, so it’s hard to say how motivated the average player will or won’t be to engage and power through everything before the event wraps up. Those details should be arriving tomorrow as things kick off though.
Event Date and Time
The GO Tour Poké Ball Prep Rally event will take place from Friday, February 18, 2022, to Friday, February 25, 2022.
“You’ll be able to complete research tasks to earn Poké Balls and catch Pokémon like Hisuian Voltorb and Amoonguss. Plus, Hisuian Electrode will be making its Pokémon GO debut!”
Hisuian Electrode Debut
After some extensive research, Professor Willow has confirmed that Hisuian Voltorb—a Pokémon known to inhabit the Hisui region of the Pokémon Legends: Arceus game—can evolve into Hisuian Electrode!
You’ll need 50 Voltorb Candy to evolve Hisuian Voltorb.*
*You’ll also be able to evolve Hisuian Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode after the event ends.
New Avatar Item: Ball Guy Costume Heading to Pokemon GO
Dress up as an iconic and mysterious character known to appear at the Galar Pokemon League with a new avatar outfit! This outstanding outfit will be available in the shop at the start of this event.
Timed Research
During the event, Timed Research that rewards Poké Balls will be available.
