Beyond the raid list shake-up, there are two other events tied to Raid Week 2019: Raid Hour and Lapras Raid Day. On May 22, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, the number of raids that spawn will be much higher than normal, giving players a better chance at getting some of the new Pokemon added for Pokemon GO Raid Week 2019. Lapras Raid Day, much like previous similar events, will see the Water-type Transport Pokemon will be joining the raid roster for a limited time.
It will take place on May 25 from 11 AM to 2 PM local time in all countries save Asia-Pacific, where it will occur the following day, May 26, during the same time period instead. This gives the chance to catch a shiny Lapras and obtain up to 5 raid passes. However, considering that many of the new Pokemon on the Raid Week 2019 Raid roster also have an in-game shiny, Lapras may not be the only appealing raid tied to the event. Here’s every Raid boss added for Pokemon GO Raid Week 2019:
Tier 5 (regional): Uxie, Mesprite, and Azelf Tier 4: Alolan Marowak, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Absol, Metagross, Tier 3: Alolan Raichu, Chansey, Scyther, Aerodactyl, Floatzel Tier 2: Misdreavus, Kirlia, Mawile, Feebas, Clamperl, Bibarel Tier 1: Machop, Slakoth, Shinx, Bronzor.
From this list, potential shinies are Alolan Marowak, Absol, Alolan Raichu, Scyther, Aerodactyl, Misdreavus, Mawile, Feebas, Clamperl, Machop, Shinx, Bronzor (just now added), and Lapras (available May 26). Furthermore, beyond shiny hunting, the tier 4 raid bosses are outstanding for this event, as Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Metagross are all some of the strongest Pokemon in Pokemon GO. So, if players happen to be missing any of them or have an interest in catching perfect IVs, be sure to take part in this event.
As exciting as Raid Week 2019 is, it’s worth mentioning that Pokemon GO doesn’t rest on its laurels and has recently made another major change to the game. With the addition of some new lure modules, players can now get the gen-4 Sinnoh Eeveelutions: Glaceon and Leafeon.
Pokemon GO is out now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
