Originally a collaboration between The Pokemon Company, Game Freak, and Google, those who participated in an April Fool’s Day Pokemon Challenge on Google Maps could capture Pokemon while exploring the world on the app. This experiment would eventually lead to the release of Pokemon GO, developed by Niantic. Pokemon GO sees players exploring every area possible to locate rare Pokemon. One avid fan of the game, however, managed to play Pokemon GO somewhere fairly unexpected.

A user on TikTok by the name of SpooferX uploaded a video in which they manage to play Pokemon GO where the famous ship, the Titanic, sank. While playing Pokemon GO, players can change their location by spoofing, which is considered a bannable offense by Niantic. Regardless, spoofing lets players teleport to a specific location in the world. This most likely is what SpooferX did to the exact location where the infamous Titanic sank. During the video, SpooferX enters the location but encounters no Pokemon. Using an incense to cause a wild encounter spawns in the fire/ground-type Pokemon Numel.

Something that some fans may find amusing about this video is the fact that the Pokemon SpooferX finds at the Titanic coordinates wasn’t a water-type but, a Numel from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. This is funny due to the fact that Numel being fire/ground type makes it extremely weak to water.

Pokemon GO continues to add new content for its players to enjoy. From the new generations of Pokemon that Niantic is slowly adding to the game or the new features such as Mega Evolutions, fans of Pokemon GO seem to have plenty left to experience. Other mobile titles such as Pokemon Unite and Pokemon Masters have also further expanded the content they feature which may result in plenty of new players.

Pokemon GO is available now on Mobile devices.
