Pokemon GO will be hosting the Hisuian Discoveries event from July 27 at 10:00am local time to August 2 at 8:00pm local time. The Hisuian Discoveries event in Pokemon GO will see the Hisuian region variants of Growlithe, Qwilfish, and Sneasel all make their debuts in the game. For those who may be unfamiliar with the Pokemon, they just made their franchise debuts earlier this year with Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

The Hisuian forms of Growlithe, Qwilfish, and Sneasel aren’t the first Hisuian Pokemon to appear in Pokemon GO. As a matter of fact, Hisuian Voltorb and Hisuian Electrode were both added to Pokemon GO earlier this year. For those that missed out on Hisuian Voltorb, the good news is that it will also be appearing in the wild as part of the Hisuian Discoveries event.
Besides catching the Hisuian Pokemon in the wild, Pokemon GO players will also have the chance to hatch them from eggs. While the Hisuian Discoveries event is live, Pokemon GO 7km eggs will feature Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Hisuian Sneasel, which should go a long way in helping players complete their collection of Hisuian Pokemon - especially since the evolved forms of these Pokemon will likely be introduced as part of the event as well, though that wasn’t specified in Niantic’s announcement.
Hisuian Growlithe evolves into Hisuian Arcanine, while Hisuian Voltorb evolves into Hisuian Electrode. Hisuian Qwilfish, meanwhile, evolves into Overqwil, a Dark/Poison-type Pokemon that didn’t exist prior to Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Hisuian Sneasel, meanwhile, evolves into Sneasler, and like Overqwil, Sneasler did not exist in the Pokemon games until the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Niantic has not been consistent when it comes to Pokemon GO Pokemon evolutions, sometimes releasing Pokemon without their evolutions be available, but there’s no reason to assume that this will be the case with the Hisuian Discoveries event. Fans will just have to wait for the event to go live to find out.
Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
