Starting later this week, that list of Pokemon GO Battle Raid bosses will have a slight rotation and introduce Mega Absol to the list for the very first time. This is a new addition to the list of every Mega Pokemon available in the game and maybe players will likely want to take advantage of the opportunity to catch Absol a few times and start saving up Mega Candy to earn that limited time evolution.

The upcoming Battle Raid will be available from October 22 through November 5, so players still have a bit of time to get ready. Mega Absol is a pure Dark-type, which means that keepings counters straight shouldn’t be a tall order. Trainers are going to simply need to bring their best Fighting-, Fairy-, and Bug-type Pokemon to the battle. For the best counter roster possible, try to form a team of six from these recommended Pokemon and appropriate move sets…

Best Mega Absol Counters

Lucario - Counter/Aura Sphere Conkeldurr - Counter/Dynamic Punch Machamp - Counter/Dynamic Punch Lopunny (Mega) - Low Kick/Focus Blast Beedrill (Mega) - Infestation/X-Scissor Gardevoir - Charm/Dazzling Gleam Togekiss - Charm/Dazzling Gleam Blaziken - Counter/Focus Blast Altaria (Mega) - Dragon Breath/Dazzling Gleam Breloom - Counter/Dynamic Punch Hariyama - Counter/Dynamic Punch Heracross - Counter/Close Combat Gengar (Mega) - Hex/Focus Blast

As always, players should keep in mind that they need to enter the battle with enough friends (at least three or four mid- to high-level players) and to focus on using Pokemon that take advantage of the boss’ weaknesses. This would be an appropriate time to burn through some Stardust, Rare Candy, and TMs on the right Fighting, Fairy-, and Bug-type Pokemon in order to properly prepare for the big fight.

In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the closing days of the Season of Mischief. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
