Yesterday, players were rewarded with the chance to fight Kyogre and Groudon. Now today’s legendary Pokemon for Pokemon GO Fest include Palkia, common and altered forms of Giratina, and Dialga. Below is a list of Pokemon and moves, excluding Shadow Pokemon, that will help players face off against Dialga specifically.
Dialga is a steel and dragon-type Pokemon, and just like the mainline games, it will be weak to fighting and ground type moves. In terms of fighting type Pokemon, Lucario, Conkeldurr, and Machamp are very safe bets. Specifically, Lucario’s Counter and Aura Sphere moves will prove useful against Dialga, while Conkeldurr’s Counter and Dynamic Punch will be the best choice. And lastly, Machamp’s Counter and Dynamic Punch attacks will be a great matchup against Dialga.
If players prefer to fight with ground type Pokemon, Excadrill, Groudon, and Landorus are excellent options to choose from. Excadrill’s Mud Slap and Drill Run moves will be super effective against Dialga, while Groudon’s Mud Shot and Earthquake attacks will help deal extra damage, and Landorus’s Mud Shot and Earth Power moves will be incredibly useful.
This boss battle may prove tricky to players, as Dialga is resistant to nine different types of moves. But using these Pokemon and move sets will give trainers some useful pointers to fight Dialga with, or at least put them in the right direction. These three legendary Pokemon have been in high demand for the game for quite some time now, due to their absence for over a year. Players should take this opportunity to fight these legendary Pokemon while they still can, because who knows how long it will take until they make their next appearances.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
