Dratini’s original Community Day was particularly popular because of the opportunity it offered to rack up Dragon-type catches. That may be a good motivator once again this weekend as some players are still working towards their Platinum Medals. Even if that’s not the case, this event’s featured Pokemon combined with the Stardust bonus should work together to make this a very popular event in Pokemon GO this Saturday afternoon.

Trainers don’t necessarily need to do a lot of prep work ahead of Community Day Classic events, but being aware of the specific bonuses can be very helpful in setting priorities for the limited time festivities. Trainers should take each bonus into consideration as they plan their afternoons and decide how they will be enjoying Dratini’s special day.
Featured Pokemon
Dratini - Gen 1 Dragon-type
Date
Saturday, November 5, 2022
Start and End Times
From 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time
Starting in February 2019, Community Day events now always take place on local time, no matter where you are playing. That changes a bit over the winter months as the time is split between hemispheres rather than time zones.
Special Move
Evolve Dragonair (Dratini’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Dragonite that knows the Charged Attack Draco Meteor. Make sure to evolve during the active time window (within two hours of the event ending) if you want to secure the exclusive move.
Special Research Storyline - Dratini Community Day Classic
For US $1. 00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access a Dratini Community Day Classic–exclusive Special Research story. You’ll also be able to gift this to friends you have achieved Great Friends or higher with, provided you have already bought the ticket for yourself. Tickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Please note that this Special Research will not include an in-game medal.
Bonuses
3× Catch Stardust. Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours. Incense activated during the event will last for three hours. Take a few snapshots during Community Day Classic for a surprise!
Shiny Variant
Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for shiny Dratini while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day and Community Day Classic event, so we fully expect to see them this month, as well.
That should be just about everything players need to know to Dratini’s Community Day event arrives in just a few days, so be sure to take care of any preparations to in-game inventory and storage space now.
