With the huge success of Pokemon GO, many have been asking what Niantic, Pokemon GO’s developer, will be working on next. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Niantic CEO, John Hanke talked about how Niantic’s augmented reality platform would be used to create new types of games.

It would appear that Niantic is just getting started with its revolutionary mobile gaming platform, but as to what specific properties will be getting the “GO” treatment, that’s still a little unclear. Some weeks ago it was rumored that Niantic was working on a Harry Potter version of Pokemon GO, and while those rumors turned out to be false, it didn’t stop fans from creating their own trailers for Harry Potter GO as well as a Destiny version of the game.

So while it’s clear that fans are hungry for a new augmented reality game, it appears that they will have to wait a little longer to see what that game will look like. Aside from future projects, Hanke also took some time to talk about the new content that will soon be added to Pokemon GO. One of the biggest additions that Hanke talked about is the new buddy system, which will allow players to choose a buddy pokemon who will “appear alongside [their] Trainer avatar on your profile screen, adding helpful bonuses such as awarding Candy for walking together.”

Which game or movie property would be best suited for an augmented reality adaptation?
