The latest Pokemon GO datamine seems to reveal new plans to bring the bad squad back to the game and offer players more frequent chances to encounter the grunts (likely for a limited time). Unlike prior Team Go Rocket events, this one looks like it’ll include some new features, like a Team Go Rocket hot air balloon that carries grunts around the game’s map.

As always, keep in mind that datamined information has not been confirmed and could entirely change before it ever goes live in the game. Niantic hasn’t mentioned this event yet, so nothing is official. With that in mind, let’s dive into what the code includes.

ROCKET_BALLOON

INVASION_BALLOON_TAP

BalloonManager

get_MinBalloonIncidentPlayerLevel

GET_ROCKET_BALLOON

START_ROCKET_BALLOON_INCIDENT

BalloonMovementUtility

get_NextWanderTime

BalloonMovementUtility

balloonInitialHeight

spawnOffsetRelativeToCamera

wanderIntervalMin

wanderIntervalMax

wanderTargetMinDistance

wanderTargetMaxDistance

balloonIdleHeight

movementForceCurve

speedDampening

cameraRig

NextWanderTime

minSafeCameraDistance

.get_DespawnHeight

.get_DespawnKillHeight

The bulk of the new code relates to the addition of a Team Go Rocket balloon. From what the dataminers have found so far, it appears that the Balloon will have the ability to spawn certain places on the map, move from location to location, and change height. Only one balloon will be able to appear on the map at a time and, obviously, the balloon is equipped to hold Team Go Rocket grunts.

That’s about all we know so far, but it seems likely that more official details will be revealed in the very near future.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
