Users in the Asia-Pacific regions were hit with some very poorly-timed server problems about eight hours ago. This caused some serious problems for players who were all set to participate in Community Day. Niantic dug into the issues right away, but it still took some time to get things sorted out.
As a bit of a consolation prize, the event has been extended for three additional hours in the impacted regions. Here are the updates from Niantic as the company worked through the issues…
It’s good that a fix was implemented quickly, but players who planned a schedule around the event are likely feeling very frustrated. Hopefully many of them had enough flexibility to continue playing once the issues were resolved.
If you haven’t begun preparing for the event yet, be sure to follow these steps to get ready for the Dratini Community Day. Hopefully there will be no issues for the event later today in America, but we’ll be monitoring the situation and posting updates.
