According to a post shared today on Pokemon GO’s official website, Niantic is set to host a Safari Zone event with the support of the city of Dortmund in Germany in Westfalenpark from Saturday, June 30 until Sunday, July 1. As explained by the developer, the event will be a part of its Pokemon GO Summer Tour 2018, and it will offer fans the opportunity to catch a bevy of different Pokemon, with the company set to include “some rarely seen throughout Europe”.
In addition to Pokemon GO’s Safari Zone event in Dortmund, Niantic also plans to hold one in Yokosuka, Japan, later this Summer, but the company has yet to provide a specific date as to when it will actually take place. The developer also has promised that it will share “an exciting schedule for our Trainers across Asia”, with more details to come at a later time.
To complement the return of the various Safari Zone events, Niantic recently revealed the decision to hold the second annual Pokemon GO Fest 2018 in Chicago, Illinois this summer, stating that single-day passes are to go on sale on May 11 for $20 apiece. Those who won’t be able to attend any of the aforementioned live events will thankfully be given the chance to take part in “a variety of activities and challenges” happening concurrently with the functions with more information coming sometime down the line.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see how Niantic intends to set these Safari Zone events and Pokemon GO Fest 2018 apart from previous efforts, as a lot of folks are surely hoping for meaningful content to be delivered for attending. Of course, the company will need to provide more exact and sumptuous details other than the open-ended promises of “a unique real-world experience” with “exclusive activities” to entice fans into showing up and taking part.
Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
