According to the latest post on the official Pokemon GO website, the next update will start rolling out this Saturday during the Swinub Community Day event. Players will see the addition of stat boosts during Trainer Battles, triggered on occasion after a certain charge move is performed. Better yet, once triggered, the stat boosts stay active on the affected Pokemon until they faint or are switched out during battle to a different Pokemon.

For now, only three moves have a chance to trigger stat boosts, though Niantic makes it clear that more may be added in the future. The three moves are:

Ancient Power: Chance to raise the user’s Attack and Defense Ominous Wind: Chance to raise the user’s Attack and Defense Silver Wind: Chance to raise the user’s Attack and Defense

The developer also teases even more news about updates to Trainer Battles, though no concrete details as to what is changing or possibly when Pokemon GO players can expect to see these additional tweaks.

As previously leaked, the Swinub Community Day event is set to begin on February 16, giving players the opportunity to earn one of the three newly tweaked stat boost moves: Ancient Power. During the community day hours from 2PM EST - 5pm EST, when players evolve a Piloswine into a Mamoswine, the creature then learns Ancient Power automatically. This is a powerful Rock-type move that comes with three charges and a low base power of 70. Plus, with the potential to raise the user’s attack and defense stats during a Trainer Battle, this move may now be in even more demand than it was previously.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
