The seasonal Field Research associated with the Season of Discovery are still sticking around just a bit longer, but there’s a long list of other new rewards that many trainers will likely want to check out. Being aware of what tasks are available and what rewards are associated with them helps Pokemon GO players know when a task is worth abandoning versus when one should be completed as soon as possible to lock in the exciting encounter reward....

Since the original Pokemon anime introduced a giant Dragonite in “Mystery at the Lighthouse,” and Pokemon Red and Blue made the Pokemon particularly powerful, fans have tried to get their hands on the Dragon-type Pokemon. Hanke appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to address a horde of Pokemon trainers and GO devotees. One of the most interesting tidbits from his session was a hint that the game might soon add a staple of the mainline Pokemon series; Pokemon Centers. For the uninitiated, Pokemon Centers supply trainers with a quick and easy way of healing all the monsters that are currently part of their squad....

In-game, trainers can obtain four types of Pokemon eggs: 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, and 10 km. All of these eggs can be hatched by using an incubator and walking the required distance, with rarer Pokemon corresponding to increased distance. Though previous updates have streamlined the Pokemon that can be hatched, this is the first time there has been a mass purge of this size from the egg pool....

This tragic story has since become viral on the Internet, with many Pokemon GO players on social media and Internet forums offering their condolences and reminding each other to stay safe when playing the augmented reality game. Some of these Pokemon GO fans have also figured out a way to honor Cayla in-game. Many fans of the mobile AR game were lobbying for a Weedle Community Day so that a new shiny family could be introduced to the game. That sentiment was shared by many trainers throughout the community and helped Weedle pull out the win, just ahead of Ghastly who was the runner up. With the voting now closed, trainers are able to start looking forward to the June and July Pokemon GO Community Day events....

Originally, Niantic was scheduled to host a panel on Thursday, July 21st, called “Re-Imagining Reality: Bringing Games into the Real World with Ingress and Pokemon GO.” Now that Pokemon GO has become such a hit with mobile gamers the world over, the panel is being moved to Sunday, July 24th at 1:45pm PT, to Hall H, which holds 6,500 people compared to the 480 that would have been able to attend the original panel....

The event is scheduled to kick off this Friday, August 14 at 1pm PT. At this point, it’s unclear if the third and final Ultra Reward Week will bring a new chain of timed research for players to power through and earn special rewards and encounters....

Players have been asking for the feature since the game was released in 2016. The player base since then has dropped and been inconsistent. But with the addition of new Pokemon, adding a friends list and trading, among the other updates they have made in 2018, there have been many players returning to the game. To ensure balanced gameplay between battles and players, there will be three different Trainer Battle Leagues: Great, Ultra, and Master....

The official Pokemon GO Twitter account confirmed the news earlier, announcing that the period of bonus XP and Stardust would be ending at 1:00PM PT/ 4:00PM ET on December 1. Due to how the tweet was worded, this statement is often being mistaken for an extension of the reward period, although in fact, December was always the expiry date for event bonuses. The line-up also comes with the release of a bunch of plushies including characters like Bulbasaur, Hopip, Oddish, Rowlet, Shaymin, Snivy, and Turtwig—all Grass-type Pokemon. While the plushies are neat, they are a fairly common release for Pokemon merchandise. While the gardening-specific releases include sandals, a storage basket, an aroma diffuser, and a cultivation set, the crown jewel of the collection is a watering can designed to look like Squirtle....

At the beginning of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it can be extremely difficult trying to catch Alpha Pokemon. Most of the time will be spent sneaking around them or running away. Once trainers defeat the Noble Pokemon of the region they’re in, Alpha Pokemon will start appearing more frequently in the wild. The well-known and common way of catching an Alpha Pokemon is to battle it. However, since Alpha Pokemon are so strong, it’s better to try and catch them without engaging them in battle....

Like every other Pokemon game, trainers can only choose one Starter Pokemon. Fortunately, Pokemon Legends: Arceus allows trainers to get the other two starters without needing to trade with another player. The prerequisite for getting the Hisui Starters is completing the main story. After this, there are two different ways of getting the Starter Pokemon. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is divided into Missions and Requests. The Missions follow the story and postgame of Legends: Arceus and must be completed. Requests are optional sidequests that have varying rewards based on the requester. Some Requests are readily available with each new Mission, but others won’t be visible until players have caught the right Pokemon. Request 36 is one of the latter, and if players are neglecting their Pokedex research, they’re bound to miss out on more than a few....

While the mission is a must for completionist gamers, it is also just worth doing for casual players because it is very easy and awards the player with five Sticky Globs and one Rare Candy. The quest is not exactly out of the way either, as it can be naturally found while completing the main story. The quest giver is at a camp that the player will need to set up by completing another request....

An open world game might be exactly what the franchise needs, but capturing the fantastical beauty of the anime won’t be a simple task by any means. While this new game won’t be able to look back to the past for inspiration the same way that other titles have, it can look to the Pokemon anime series, which stands as one of the best renditions of the RPG series’ world....

Variants of Zorua and Zoroark were also recently revealed, and rumors have been circulating that the Pokemon Legends: Arceus starters; Cyndaquil, Oshawott, and Rowlet; will have new final forms. They always request the same Pokemon and always return a specific Pokemon with predetermined gender, nature, level, and the like.
