Yesterday, Niantic announced via Twitter that they’re taking further steps against cheaters in Pokemon GO. Specifically, what they’re doing is going after Pokemon caught using “third-party services that circumvent normal gameplay and violate our TOS.” What this means is that Pokemon caught through the use of spoofing services have been rendered more or less useless by the new measures. Since much of Pokemon GO revolves around seeking out Pokemon in the “real” world, different Pokemon are found in different areas....

The initial challenge times were listed as 11AM - 11:30AM, 12PM - 12:30PM, and 3PM - 3:30PM (all times in CDT). However, eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that the official page for the challenges on the Pokemon GO Fest website has now been updated. The challenge that was initially set to take place between 12PM - 12:30PM will actually be taking place between 1PM - 1:30PM instead. Replying to Pokemon GO fans on Reddit, a member of the Niantic support team confirmed that the developer had indeed changed the time on the infographic....

The success of Pokemon GO can be seen directly through the rise in 3DS sales, claims Nintendo. In July, the NPD Group’s monthly North American sales report showed that the system’s sales have increased 80% year-on-year, making it the best-selling system of the month. According to the Big N itself, the sales increase comes courtesy of Pokemon GO’s popularity.
