As a game that requires players to step outside, Pokemon GO has worked hard to keep its Trainers active without them having to leave their quarantine spaces. Continuing with its monthly Community Days and creating more special events throughout the year, Pokemon GO has even reported the highest earnings ever for 2020....

Instead of bringing back Kyogre, Groudon, or some other previous Battle Raid boss, Pokemon GO’s November Research Breakthrough is adding Shedinja to the game. The Gen 3 Ghost/Bug-type is brand new to Pokemon GO and its appearance has players guessing that the two preceding members of its evolution family are also going to arrive in November. This means that players may finally be able to fill in Pokedex entries 289-291....

In September 2015, 193 world leaders made a commitment to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development, including things like ending world poverty and ensuring gender equality. Soon, Pokemon GO players will be able to show their support for this project thanks to a new item that’s being added to the app. A free shirt is set to be added to the wardrobes of trainers all around the world so that they can add their support to the Global Goals initiative....

For the uninitiated, Pokemon GO Community Day events are special occasions where Niantic dramatically increases the spawn rate of a certain Pokemon within a certain window. There are many other bonuses that Pokemon GO players can enjoy during Community Day events as well, including an increased chance at catching a shiny....

Luckily, Niantic is finally ready to deliver on this request and offer players willing to cough up enough coins some new storage limits. This is great news for players who are trying to catch all the best Unova region Pokemon and save multiple copies for different move sets or later evolutions. The Pokemon GO anniversary event for 2022 will take place from Wednesday, July 6 at 10:00am local time until Tuesday, July 12 at 8:00pm local time. Since Charizard is the sixth Pokemon listed in the Pokedex, the event will have a special focus on the Gen 1 Fire/Flying-type Pokemon. Players can look forward to catching Party hat Charmeleon, Party Hat Charizard, and Cake Costume Pikachu. Shiny variants for Party Hat Charmeleon and Party Hat Charizard will also be available....

This much was divulged during a recent interview held between John Hanke and Financial Times, with the Niantic CEO assuring fans that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will have a much smoother roll out later on in 2018 than Pokemon GO, which was plagued by a plethora of issues and bad press at its release in 2016. Jonathan Norton, a California-based Pokemon GO Fest, has filed a class action lawsuit against Niantic Inc. Norton claims that the developer/publisher did not provide the “special Pokemon and other rewards” that were a key selling point of the event. For those that might not have followed the weekend’s events, Pokemon GO Fest was supposed to feature special events and challenges in which attendees would catch tons of Pokemon. However, what they got was an endless stream of connection errors, as most struggled to access the game....

Now, it’s worth mentioning that Pokemon GO typically follows a set pattern. This is often why players can predict the Pokemon that will likely be featured as part of the monthly Community Day event, with some members of the community being right in predicting Bagon Community Day, but it seems Niantic has decided to change up its Field Research process. Not too long ago, players started earning a legendary from a random pool of Pokemon instead of one specific legendary when completing Research Breakthroughs....

Those who choose not to participate in the Pokemon GO Galarian Mr. Mime Special Research event shouldn’t worry, however. There’s a pattern of Niantic making the Pokemon featured in the ticketed Special Research events more widely available about a month after the event ends, so everyone should have the chance to catch it eventually. Niantic is keeping the Pokemon GO events going strong to close out 2020 and lead into the new year....

Unfortunately, Niantic’s attempt to alleviate some of the issues caused by Pokemon GO players apparently hasn’t been enough to please everyone. The Detroit Free Press reports that a couple from St. Clair Shores has filed a lawsuit against the developer for largely the same reasons as the lawsuit reported weeks ago: Scott and Jayme Dodich are annoyed that the game keeps drawing people to a park located near their home....

A report from NBC5 details the story of one Pokemon GO player from Oklahoma City, OK. whose car was stolen as he attempted to catch ’em all. The player, named Devante Frazier, explains that he received a notification on his phone about a Geodude spawn nearby. Frazier couldn’t “turn down something that good” and so he pulled over and left his car in order to catch the Pokemon. Unfortunately for Frazier, his car was stolen as he was trying to catch the Geodude and he had to watch as the thief drove the vehicle down the highway....

In Kansas City, Tim Johnston and his fiancee spent an afternoon playing Pokemon GO at the Topeka Cemetery, which reportedly has a “good” PokeStop. As the two were playing, a push notification popped up alerting them that police were searching for two armed and dangerous people who were suspects in an aggravated robbery case. The alert also included mugshots of the suspects in question. Not long after seeing the notification, the Pokemon GO-playing couple spotted the suspects and phoned 911, telling the dispatcher their location and saying that “I have a visual of two suspects you guys are looking for....

Pokemon GO Community Days happen monthly and allow trainers to catch a higher amount of a certain hard to get Pokemon during the three-hour period. This month features Turtwig, the Grass starter Pokemon from the fourth generation of Pokemon titles. The Sinnoh Celebration week will once again offer Pokemon GO trainers a great opportunity to fill in any missing Pokedex entries from that generation. It should be another very busy week for PoGO players, so they may want to start planning ahead now by reviewing their Sinnoh dex and deciding which Pokemon they should prioritize finding during the big event....

The Special Raid Weekend will only be a two-day event, but it should still keep most Pokemon GO trainers busy at the end of this week. The Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event in 2020 introduced Generation 5 monsters Audino and Alomomola while cycling other cute Pokemon with pink color schemes into wild encounters, Raids, Eggs, and Field Research rewards. Previous years were similarly themed with Pokemon such as Smoochum, Clefairy, and Chansey, and the 2021 event taking place between February 14 at 1:00 p.m. and February 18 at 8:00 p.m. local time will revolve around the Psychic-types Munna and Musharna....
