Reportedly, players have been catching shiny variants of the legendary in-game, with the shiny legendary having magenta markings instead of blue. This unique variation makes Lugia the first legendary to have a shiny form, and considering Lugia was the first legendary to appear in Pokémon GO last July and August, it’s rather fitting for it to be the first to receive a shiny. However, it remains unknown whether this shiny Lugia has an increased spawn rate or if it has the standard rate of shiny Pokémon....

Using its various social media pages and YouTube, Niantic has started a countdown for Pokemon GO that ends at 4:00am GMT on July 28. The tease has included silhouettes of Team Rocket grunts, as well as what appears to be the silhouette of Team Rocket leader Giovanni. According to a post from TeamEevolution, the special Fire and Ice event for Pokemon Go kicks off next week starting on June 13 and ending on June 20. During that time, the spawn rate for Fire and Ice type Pokemon increases, giving players a greater chance to capture some their favorite pocket monsters. Not only that, Cyndaquil, Charmander, Swinub, and all of their evolutions will spawn more frequently during this time as well....

The new update fixes a bug causing incorrect vibration notifications, which led many trainers to pull out their phones thinking a Pokemon was nearby only to be met with disappointment. Only a few days ago, Niantic took to the stage at Apple’s Special Event in order to announce that the game would soon be coming to the Apple Watch, a fact that will allow Pokemon GO fans to catch more of the classic 151, without using their mobile devices.
