Although the Pokemon 1 and 0 name trademarks were fakes, there are still a lot of people who believe that the upcoming Pokemon Switch game will take gamers back to Kanto for some kind of series reboot. Nintendo hasn’t officially denied that theory, but a blurb in Spain’s Official Nintendo Magazine a while back seems to point to a new generation entirely. The blurb appeared in the magazine a little while back, but PokeJungle recently pointed out that the Pokemon Switch promo references the introduction of a new generation, rather than a look back at an old one....

Players can sit down for a picnic in most places across Paldea, but there are a few exceptions. The areas must be wide-open, flat spaces. Players won’t be able to have a picnic in the middle of a town or city, and it’s a good idea to avoid places where a lot of aggressive Pokemon are gathering. Other than that, players can settle down for a picnic anywhere. Here are a few key locations that would make good picnic spots for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players....

According to the studio, Articuno can still be found in raids until Monday, July 31st, which means that aspiring Pokemon Masters still have some time to add it to their arsenal in Pokemon GO. After that date, however, Moltres will be the raid-based opponent from July 31st to August 8th. Zapdos will then be making his electrifying appearance August 8th and will disappear on August 14th. Lugia, on the other hand, doesn’t have an expiration date attached to its appearances so it may be sticking around for the entirety of the legendary raid opportunities, which would ensure that the toughest battle in Pokemon GO to-date would remain so for the time being....

According to Niantic, the character Professor Willow discovered that Pokemon can take on a new “Lucky” trait whenever they’re traded in Pokemon GO, with the longer a Pokemon spending inside a Trainer’s storage prior to the trade, the higher the chance it becomes a Lucky Pokemon once Traded with a Friend. Players will quickly be able to determine if the trade has resulted in a Lucky Pokemon, as they will be sparkly after the fact....

As seen below in the image courtesy of Pokemon GO Hub, the Johto Festival has altered the game’s different tiers of raid bosses by introducing the Gen 2 starters Yanma and Sunkern into Tier 1, Pineco into Tier 2, and Ursaring into Tier 4. Interestinly enough, all of the Gen 4 pre-evolutions are also available from raids as well, with this potentially being a hint toward the addition of Gen 4 Pocket Monsters in the ARG....

April shows no signs of slowing down either, as Niantic revealed all sorts of events Pokemon GO players should be on the lookout for. Later this month brings Stufful to the spotlight inside of Community day, though each week leading up to it will have something going on. Already, fans saw an influx of Ditto during the April Fools’ 2-Oh?-22 event, and three more unique gameplay limited time content is planned....

It’s worth mentioning, however, that Feebas is one of few Pokemon with a slightly complicated evolution method. To evolve Feebas, players need to equip the Feebas as their buddy and walk with it for 20 KM. This means that Pokemon GO players lucky enough to land a shiny Feebas won’t be able to get a shiny Milotic until meeting that requirement, but as seen below, the shiny models make it well worth it....

In a recent newsletter put out by Niantic, which was then detailed by the Pokemon fan site Serebii.net, Pokemon Go has kicked off a new mini-event running through the weekend. Friendship weekend features a number of bonuses including double friendship gains, double candy from trades, and half the stardust typically required to even make a trade. It’s not likely the big, exciting announcement that was teased earlier in the week, but for Pokemon Go players, this should be a good opportunity to increase friendship rank....

Much like with previous Community Days in Pokemon GO, April 2019’s Community Day will only last for three hours, with the event scheduled to take place during the time frame of 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM local time. There will also be bonuses that can be taken advantage of, with Lure Modules expected to last three hours for the duration of the event, and with there being three times as much Catch XP as usual....

There are already multiple Pokemon that can be associated with Christmas that have already been added to Pokemon GO. Additionally, there have been multiple winter holiday events that have taken place in the game’s history. With the Halloween event being released smoothly, the winter holiday event will also likely go over well....

Although Pokemon GO hasn’t officially announced an event surrounding the March Equinox just yet, but reliable dataminer Chrales is back to Twitter with some Field Research code that suggests at least a few quests related to the upcoming seasonal event. This time around it sounds like at least part of the festivities will focus on Bulbasaur, Chikorita, and other Grass-type Pokemon. The focus on grass-types doesn’t come as a big surprise, considering this equinox is associated with the beginning of spring....

Reddit user cokuspocus published a post filled with findings from a datamining effort over the weekend, and the results are rather illuminating. There are references to new items, new gameplay mechanics, and perhaps even the long-awaited addition of player trading. First off are consumables listed as ‘item_incense_spicy’, ‘item_incense_cool’, and ‘item_incense_floral’. It’s speculated that these items are variants on the incense currently available in-game that specifically target specific types of Pokemon — presumably fire, ice, and grass....

Pokemon GO is finally allowing entry to Kalos natives as of its most recent update and event, the Kalos Celebration. As such, from December 2, 2020 at 10 AM, until December 8, 2020 10 PM (local time), Pokemon Trainers will be able to take part in the Kalos Celebration event for an easier chance at meeting all of the game’s new Kalosian arrivals. In addition to the chance to earn Clamperl as a limited research reward during the event window, players will also receive a 2x Catch Stardust bonus for Water-type Pokemon and there will be increased Water-type spawns during the event. Trainers who may be busy on February 23 will just need to be sure to start the Limited Research, but they don’t have to finish it right away. Clamperl will still be the reward even for players who can’t complete the task during the three hour window....

In Japan, the Tojinbo cliffs are often used by people who want to take their own lives, with approximately 150 people committing suicide there every year. But it is now being reported that during August and September, the rate of suicides at Tojinbo has drastically decreased as a result of Pokemon GO. Yukio Shige, a former police officer who now runs a suicide prevention non-profit explains that “people who contemplate suicide tend to go to quiet places before finalizing their decision but now such places attract Pokemon GO players....

According to the Journal Sentinel, comes as a response to an overabundance of players in and around Milwaukee’s Lake Park. As one might expect, regular groups of Pokémon GO players gave the park a lot of foot traffic but they also apparently caused a lot of damage, and the county board wants to stop that. Of course the county board can’t stop Pokémon GO players from venturing into the park, but it can make it so players don’t have any incentive to do so....

A Magmar Community Day event will follow up later this month, but for now the focus is all on the Gen 1 Electric-type. The core concept of Pokemon GO Community Day is pretty simple: Go out (or possibly stay-in and use incense…) and catch a ton of pokemon for three hours, but this time around things are different. The series of special Mischief Unbound Raid Hours ran from November 26 - November 29 and offers players some additional activities to go along with the Special Research taking place. Each event provides one hour (6pm-7pm local time) to battle one or more returning Legendary bosses in Pokemon GO 5-star Battle Raids. The month of April has been a busy one so far, with Stufful arriving on the scene for a special community day adventure. Pokemon GO also has some April research tasks to take advantage of, with many challenges rewarding players with unique Pokemon to catch and some items to use in their journey to becoming the very best.
