Tickets for Pokemon GO Fest 2018 went on sale today, with single-day passes being available for $20. The sale opened at 9AM PST but some players who visited the site at that time say that technical problems prevented them from buying tickets. Site lockups when trying to complete transactions were noted by plenty of fans, and attempts to load the site using different browsers were also unsuccessful. Within 30 minutes, tickets to the event had sold out, leaving many Pokemon GO players and YouTube content creators disappointed....

The event kicks off around the world Saturday morning (today), so players should begin double checking the day 1 habitat schedule and preparing to power through the event’s Special Research. While all of the special activities are going on, there are some spawns that players are going to want to keep an eye out for more than others. That includes a list of Pokemon who are brand new to the game and Pokemon who are going to be shiny for the first time in the mobile AR experience....

Rotom is an example of one of several forgotten Pokemon, like Kecleon, that remain un-introduced to Pokemon GO despite the game moving past its respective Generation. Up until now, Pokemon trainers had no way to encounter Rotom, but the appliance-haunting ghost has finally made its appearance. In a post on the Pokemon GO website, Niantic unveiled a bunch of new content coming in the next month. Called Halloween Mischief, this new update focuses on adding spooky new Pokemon and Evolutions to the game. According to the developer, the event contains two parts: Creepy Companions and Ghoulish Pals. Now Pokemon GO can mark their calendars for the May 2022 Community Day. On Saturday, May 21 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm local time, Pokemon GO players can participate in a new Community Day event starring Alolan Geodude. Alolan Geodude has been readily available in Pokemon GO for quite some time, but this event will make it much easier for players to get a shiny version of the Pokemon....

Keep in mind that there are already a handful of moves in the game code that have been there for a while and no Pokemon have access to. This is likely just Niantic setting the stage for future updates, events, and generation releases; but it’s still exciting to speculate about how these abilities might impact the future Pokemon GO metagame. The list spans many different move types and, once implemented, could go a long way to introducing some more variety to both the PvP and PvE meta game by making currently low tier Pokemon a lot more appealing....

Reddit user TCA-Main_Man took to the Pokemon GO subreddit to ask Niantic for the ability to delete Pokemon eggs from one’s inventory. Their post has amassed nearly 2,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, indicating that many Pokemon GO players are in agreement that the feature should be added to the popular augmented reality mobile game. As for why Pokemon GO players would want such a feature, the answer is simple....

Around July 7th, Niantic removed some rather significant first generation Pokemon from Pokemon GO’s egg hatching pool. All three starter Pokemon - Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle - can no longer be hatched from eggs, and neither can Ekans, Goldeen, Magnemite, Staryu, and Vulpix. One second generation Pokemon was also given the boot from the egg hatching pool, in the form of the bug/flying-type Pokemon Yanma. All 13 Pokemon added to Pokemon GO’s egg hatching pool happen to be second generation Pokemon....

According to the mobile app market data analysis firm known as Sensor Tower, Pokemon GO players have gone on to spend an average of $2.5 million per day ever since the June 19 update that brought trading into the game. Interestingly enough, the 60 days leading to the update saw players worldwide spending around $1.8 million per day, meaning that the trading update has increased PoGO’s revenue by roughly $700,000 per day....

In the week prior to the Halloween event, Pokemon GO made about $10 million. That number is impressive, but it’s still a far cry from the cash it was making during its peak. While the Halloween event was going on, however, Pokemon GO’s revenue increased to $23 million for the period, an increase of 133%. This is significant when one considers that the Halloween event didn’t even bring with it any meaningful content updates....

This month’s Team GO Rocket Special Research, titled A Seven-Colored Shadow, is going to feature Shadow Ho-Oh. That likely means that Shadow Ho-Oh will be the final Pokemon in Giovanni’s lineup when players challenge the GO Rocket leader later this month. Ho-Oh is a pretty powerful Pokemon, so this presents an exciting challenge and opportunity for Pokemon GO players. The most recently announced new Pokemon are the Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark, which were teased in a “found footage” style trailer for Pokemon Legends: Arceus before officially being revealed as new Pokemon by Game Freak. The Hisuian versions of both evolutions differ from their original forms in some major ways, so it’ll be interesting to see what other changes between the variants there are in the final version of the game....

Fans of the manga were surprised to discover that it would be coming to an end shortly. CoroCoro magazine, which the manga is published in, announced that the manga would be coming to a close. The exact reason for its sudden conclusion is unknown, though it may be as simple as the author needing a break....

The mobile game’s first Dynamax-capable Pokemon is Eternatus, paired with Galar Champion Leon wearing his “Sygna Suit” - a costume designed after the Legendary Pokemon. Eternatus plays an integral part in the limited-time story event “Howling Shield of Eternity,” which was developed specifically to explain why Pokemon in the game’s setting of Pasio have been unable to Dynamax (or Gigantamax) until now. However, the most interesting part of the story doesn’t center around Sword and Shield’s Dynamax phenomenon....

Rumors have been swirling these past few days that Nintendo is set to host a Nintendo Direct on January 11, where it is expected to show off a number of Nintendo Switch games. Among the titles rumored to be a part of the Nintendo Direct’s lineup are the main series Pokemon games from Game Freak, which may have had their titles leaked ahead of time. It appears as though Nintendo has filed trademarks for Pokemon 1 and 0....

Reversal has been making quick guides and videos of himself hunting for Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet since the game’s release in November. Heading out into the world of Pokemon with the express purpose of looking for Shiny types is itself nothing new, players have been trading secrets with each other on how and where to find these rare and beautiful types since the days of Nintendo Power. Fans of the anime may even recall the episode of Pokemon BW Rival Destinies called Survival on the Island of Onix!...

There are now five types of berries available in Pokemon GO, the Razz, Pinap, Nanab, Golden Razz, and now the Silver Pinap. The Silver Pinap is essentially a combination of the Razz Berry and the Pinap Berry, giving players both of the berries’ benefits in one item. Silver Pinaps will double candy rewards and increase single throw capture chance by 1.8x (slightly higher than a normal Razz). Players who want to start stocking up on these little beauties will need to participate in the currently running Celebi quests....

As hinted by the Pokemon GO Badge for defeating Giovanni, it appears that players are going to be able to battle and take down the evil boss multiple times. It appears that this is where a second Special Research story called A Challenging Development will come into play in future months. Zekrom took over Battle Raids on June 16 starting in the afternoon and is going to stick around for at least a few weeks. This third of Tao Trio is fairly powerful and will be put to good use in future Battle Raids and PvP matchups, so players won’t want to miss the opportunity to encounter and catch it while they have the chance. Pokemon GO players should remember to use their Remote Raid Passes when necessary to stay safe and continue to socially distance where necessary....
