As this is the first of any official Pokemon GO tournaments, Pokemon Producer Junichi Masuda himself was on-site to compete with fellow trainers. Masuda started out a best-out-of-five fight with Psyduck, utilizing shields as much as possible to extend the water Pokemon’s life. After a loss, he switched to another duck-like Pokemon, Ludicolo. In the end, Masuda lost three matches in a row to Poke AK, who moved on and ultimately took second place in the entire championship....

With the introduction of Alola to Pokemon GO wrapping up earlier this month, many fans have been eager to see the mysterious inter-dimensional Ultra Beasts added to the game. The start of Niantic’s 2022 Pokemon GO Fest events introduced the first member of the Ultra Beasts, the poison-type Nihilego, with more expected to arrive later in the year. Now, Pokemon GO has officially revealed the arrival of Pheromosa, Buzzwole, and Xurkitree to come during Pokemon GO Fest’s in-person events....

The Pokemon GO Lush Jungle event runs from March 22 at 10:00am local time until March 29 at 8:00pm local time. During this window, Pokemon GO players can expect to see new Pokemon appearing in raids and in the wild, and they’ll also have the Akala Adventure Special Research to complete as well. The Lush Jungle weekend spotlight, meanwhile, will be of particular interest to Pokemon GO shiny hunters....

The buddy Pokemon feature will allow players to choose one of their Pokemon and have it accompany them on their Pokemon GO adventures outside their Pokeball, not unlike Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow and the anime. The selected Pokemon can vary in size based on its own height and weight. Smaller Pokemon will be able to rest on the player’s shoulder, and flying Pokemon will be able to fly next to the player....

Pokemon GO Global Catch Challenge tasks players around the world to catch billions of Pokemon. Pokemon GO Trainers have from now until November 26 to catch three billion Pokemon, with rewards being unlocked as they tick off milestones along the way. If Pokemon GO players can catch 500 million Pokemon then they will unlock the Bronze tier, which includes double XP rewards, six-hour lure modules, and “more Pokemon” will appear globally....

As always Rocket bosses Cliff, Arlo, Sierra, and Giovanni are back to cause trouble once players work their way through the Grunts. Taking down each boss is definitely a doable task, but Pokemon GO players will want to take the time to prepare the perfect lineup of counters before the fight begins. Getting some of the new Gen 4 Pokemon through evolution requires players to use the brand new Lure Modules. However, other Pokemon will simply be found in the wild, and others still just need candy to evolve. With all of this to keep in mind, one can’t be blamed if they are having trouble keeping track of all the new Pokemon Niantic added to Pokemon GO in the latest update, so we’ve compiled them here with info on how to obtain each one....

For anyone unsure of how the hardware functions, it’s important to keep in mind how basic the product (appropriately titled Pokemon GO Plus) is designed. As a means of playing the game without having to physically wield a phone at all times, the peripheral works as advertised, utilizing a distinct number of vibrations and color flashes to indicate what’s happening around the player – all sans screen. According to a report by CNN, a Russian-linked campaign called ‘Don’t Shoot Us’ used Pokemon GO and social media platforms to divide the American people ahead of last year’s election. The organizers of Don’t Shoot Us aimed to “exploit racial tensions” in the ongoing conversation about police brutality and the mistreatment of minority ethnic people. It posted and shared news reports and footage of alleged incidents of police brutality, seemingly doing so in order to incite protests and to create a divide between protesters and those who would see black activism as a threat....

Speaking to Business Insider, Niantic CEO John Hanke has revealed that the international rollout of Pokemon Go will be halted due to server issues. Hanke states that Niantic is well aware of the server problems, which have been preventing players from launching the app, and are hard at work on a solution. While Niantic is currently focusing on those server fixes, it means that the release of Pokemon Go in other countries such as the United Kingdom and the Netherlands will be “paused” until the developer is “comfortable” that a solution has been found....

The names of the latest episodes of Pokemon Journeys, the most recent Pokemon anime, have been revealed. Through these leaks, Gengar has been teased to reveal their ‘Gigantamax’ form, a special evolution available to specific Pokemon when in the Galar region. Reddit user Zeroexev29 recently posted a clip of their Pokemon Legends: Arceus adventure in which they’re preparing to battle an Alpha Pokemon in one of the many trees dotting the Hisuian landscape. Alpha Pokemon appear much less regularly and are larger than their standard counterparts with improved stats glowing red eyes. Because Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the latest Pokemon title, until the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there may be some secrets still waiting to be uncovered and Zeroexev29 has come across a useful trick regarding the Alpha Pokemon and their combat music....

What also surprised fans about The Pokemon Company’s sudden announcement was the stunning graphics seen in the trailer. This is a large departure from the graphics seen in past games, for example, Sword and Shield, which many fans were disappointed with. However, following the release of the first two games in what was presumably a new spin-off series from Game Freak, no further entries have been made under the Let’s Go title. The future of the series then remains in limbo, as for the time being Game Freak seems focused on other games with the exciting prospects of Pokemon Legends and remakes being handed over to third-party developers. If Let’s Go is to have a chance at competing on the same platform that both mainline Pokemon games and Legends: Arceus currently occupy, then it’s going to need to refine its scope, and cover its weaknesses....
