Speaking with Forbes earlier this week, Niantic CEO John Hanke had a lot to say about the growth of Pokémon GO and its future. Most of Hanke’s quotes echo statements made during previous interviews and the Pokémon GO panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but it was his thoughts on secondary apps that are the most interesting. While Hanke seems to have no problem with players “gaming” the system in order to achieve goals like hatch eggs, he does take issue with websites that report Pokémon spawns....

In a tweet posted by the official Pokemon GO Twitter account, Niantic reveals that it has had to “temporarily” disable the ability to send berries to defending Pokemon through the info screen. Although the developer did not disclose how long the feature would be down for, Niantic did explain that it has done so in order to “resolve an issue.” Again, it’s unclear whether this is due to an issue with the berry-sending feature or whether the feature has inadvertently caused a problem with another part of the game....

Besides the 3x stardust reward announced by Niantic, other rewards have been noted by the community. Not only are players earning triple the amount of stardust when they catch ground-, water-, and grass-types, but those types of Pokemon are also much more common than usual. One Pokemon that will be a lot easier to find from now until April 30 is the third generation water-type Wailmer. As it turns out, Niantic has added a shiny Wailmer to the game as well, which stands as yet another Earth Day reward for the Pokemon GO community....

Prior to the update, a Pokemon GO Raid never surfaced any information regarding how many Trainers were involved. The only way to know if anyone else was attempting to tackle a Raid boss was to look around or to submit a Raid Pass. Unfortunately, if the Raid Boss was one of the Legendary Pokemon then anything less than a few players would make the battle impossible. After this new Pokemon GO update, players will be able to see how many fellow Trainers are either waiting for the Raid to start or already engaged in the battle....
